Getting Your Home Ready to Sell

First impressions are critical to the successful sale of your home. Taking the time to improve the condition and look of your home can benefit you tremendously.

Checklist of things to do:

  • Shampoo all carpets - replace if worn
  • Repaint interior where needed
  • Perform a major cleaning, including all windows
  • Pack away all clutter including item's on your counters, and any collectibles you may have displayed (you want to sell the house, not your collection)
  • Spruce up the yard! Plant seasonal annuals or perennials to give your yard some color - street appeal is very important.
  • Make all minor repairs - leaking faucets, broken fixtures, broken window panes, etc.
  • Check the home's major systems - electrical, roof, heating, plumbing - and make repairs now.
